Project Description:
Millard + Associates Architects, together with Fletcher Farr Ayotte (FFA) of Portland, Oregon, completed the study and conceptual plans for renovations and expansion to the existing single-story building on the Sitka waterfront. The project included a review of expansion alternatives, programming to define the size and spaces within, conceptual plans, and a preliminary cost estimate. The final concept increased the building from approximately 3,000 s.f. to 19,750 sf by adding a story to the entire building with additions to the south and east. New spaces within the facility include public meeting rooms, special teen and children areas, and a local history room holding archival materials.
