Experience
As Principle Architect at Millard + Associates Architects, Linda Millard is involved in planning, architectural design, and management tasks on public and private projects in Southeast Alaska.  She is a skilled designer, and her organizational skills are an invaluable asset to every project. Recent projects in which she has played a major role include the design for the The Wharf: Waterfront Master Plan in Ketchikan, Alaska, and in the design of the commercial and retail buildings on the downtown waterfront site, balancing historic content and contemporary function in this demanding environment.  She was currently project manager and architect for the Cape Fox Multi-Use Technology Training Center in Saxman. Outside Ketchikan, ongoing projects include Sheldon Jackson College Allen Memorial Auditorium Historic Renovation & Additions in Sitka, and programming and concept design for new library in Thorne Bay, Alaska.

Her interest and background in urban design and waterfront development includes participation in the Ketchikan Ports & Harbors Development Plan with kpff Engineers of Seattle, coordinating public meetings and community input, and verification of proposed plans with existing zoning and regulations. Other waterfront projects include the Ketchikan Harbormaster Facility, Alaska Marine Ferry System Fast Ferry Support Facility, and Ketchikan Shipyard Improvements Project.

She is a past member of the Ketchikan Gateway Borough/City of Ketchikan Planning and Zoning Commission, the current chairwoman of the Ketchikan Creek Street Design Review Board, and is involved in introducing local children to the concepts of planning and architecture through the Artists-in-Schools Program.
